 Our interest in natural childbirth began when we were expecting our first child. Concerned about the side-effects that common medications used in childbirth can pose and the alarmingly high rate of medicated births, we began researching options for a natural, unmedicated birth. We were impressed with the Bradley Method® because a majority of trained couples give birth without medication and we were quickly drawn to it because of the way the partner is brought into the pregnancy and birth. It was exactly what we were looking for. We attended classes during the middle and latter part of our pregnancy and welcomed our first daughter in a beautiful natural birth. Our birth experience was powerful, bonding us as a couple and as a family. We wanted to share the Bradley Method® with other expecting couples in our area, so when our firstborn was only a few months old, we began to pursue the training to become certified Bradley Method® instructors. We have been teaching classes to couples in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids since October 2006 and are now the parents of three beautiful children, all born naturally.
